CLARISE'
STORY
Clarise
was quite an exceptional kitty. She
was considered to be a dilute calico and had beautiful coloring and very
soft fur. She was a sweet and
feisty senior gal who loved to talk and run the show.
In a snowy winter a few years ago Clarise found her way to a house where
food and shelter were available. However,
even though she was comfortable there, she left for a day and came back
leading a big white wooly kitty who also was seeking a place to live.
Then she went back out into the snow again and came back the next
day with a big wooly gray kitty who was also homeless.
The people provided outside shelter for the “woolies” and
brought Clarise inside at night because her fur would not have been enough
to keep her warm.
In the spring the three were brought to us for spay/neuter and all found
homes. However, Clarise’s
new home life was only brief as the kitty who lived in that house did not
want a new cat in his home! Clarise
came back to us and was given a room of her own since she did not want to
be around other kitties at this point and the woolies had been adopted.
Clarise was lonely as she did not have enough quality time with
people in her room. Also, she
was stricken with an illness involving occasionally painful diarrhea.
Clarise was
treated at Beacon Cat Clinic in Sidney and was tried on different
treatment regimens and did very well.
As time went by she became very attached to the staff there and did
not want to leave! They were
extremely kind and kept Clarise as a foster and she became their office
cat. Clarise had a marvelous
time in the clinic for a year. She
was quite a talker and loved all the attention she received.
She gave and received a lot of love in her time there.
Unfortunately, her condition worsened and when she could no longer
have the quality of life she had enjoyed so much, she was peacefully put
to rest.
Clarise was a special hero and a very loving girl.
She will always be remembered with a smile.
We are thankful, in particular, to Sue who made Clarise’s life a
very happy one.
