A great gift for the felines on your list would be our wonderful hand-crocheted CATNIP MICE. You can find a large assortment on the counter at Pets West, in Curves in Sidney, and also at Elk Lake, Shelbourne, and Brentwood Vet Clinics. An attractive DONATION GIFT CERTIFICATE (click to view an example certificate) is a gift that helps save a life! $25 will feed a cat
for a whole month. Please email us at catadopt@shaw.ca or call us at 778-426-2426 for further information on how to get gift donation certificates for all the cat lovers on your holiday gift list! Get a THRIFTY’S SMILE CARD mailed to you from us at no cost and “load it” with a credit at any Thrifty’s and give the gift of groceries. For all purchases with Smile Cards with our number, Thrifty’s will donate 5% of that amount to us for our Senior Foster Program. Call us at 778-426-2426 or email catadopt@shaw.ca for more information. Thank you for visiting our website! We have many kitties who need quiet indoor-only foster homes. If you wish to consider this or adopting, please call us as there are more cats than on the website. Please also click on our Facebook button on the right where you will see over 500 photos and videos of our cats and stories about them.
Dedicated volunteers (not paid employees) run Helping Homeless Cats rescue and cats are kept in foster homes until adoption. For food, supplies and vet care, we depend on your donations made by mailing a cheque or using our Pay Pal donation page or CanadaHelps.org donation page. To receive a tax receipt for a cheque or Pay Pal donation, please email us your name and address or fill out and return a donation form found in Forms & Agreements. CanadaHelps.org provides a tax receipt.
Helping Homeless Cats of Greater Victoria Society was formed in 2009 for the purpose of rescuing abandoned domestic cats and helping feral cats. Our goal is to find good foster and permanent homes for cats we have rescued so we can help more cats in the future. When possible, we maintain long-term foster homes for seniors, low income families, and those on disability. We rely heavily on donations from supporters in order to help cats in desperate need of food, shelter, and medical care. Donations also allow us to maintain our foster homes which greatly benefit not only the cats but also the people who love them.
All cats in our care have received: spay/neuter, shots, flea treatment, deworming, veterinary exam, and FIV testing if deemed necessary. Medical treatment is provided when needed. We greatly appreciate donations for medical care, such as when a senior cat needs life-saving dental work. Before adoption, potential adopters are welcome to have blood tests done at their own expense to more completely assess the cat’s health status.
