ISIS’ STORY

Isis came to us in June 2009 at age 9.  She began life in a nice home and grew up as the companion of a young girl.  When the girl grew up and left home she took Isis and her other cats with her.  Later the girl was staying with friends and couldn’t keep her cats, so Isis stayed with another friend.  He had to move and, alas, the day came when Isis had no home.

Isis was beautiful girl – a pale peachy champagne color with a hint of a ridge down her back.  She looked like the Burmese cats in the books.  She was streamlined, exotic and gorgeous!

She loved to talk when trying to get attention.  Once she found affection and a cozy lap to curl up in she was quiet and would purr loudly.  She loved to roll over for tummy rubs and nearly turned somersaults to get the attention of anyone passing by.  She was the sweetest and most gentle cat you would ever meet, yet she would attack her scratching post with great passion!

Isis had cataracts and when she came to us she hadn’t had eye drops for awhile and her owner thought she was going blind.  Her eyes had a sort of pale gray veil over them.  However, when back on her eye drops her eyes cleared up and she could see well.  Isis also had a sensitive tummy but other than that was healthy kitty.

She was lovable and adorable but was not adopted because of little things like eye drops. Unfortunately, her advanced age was also a problem with most potential adopters.

She loved getting under the covers and spent a cozy winter here.  Then she did get a nice foster home for awhile with a couple where the got a lot of nurturing and love.  Unfortunately, she was a very noisy girl and people who need to go to work in the morning need a better night’s rest!  Isis came back to the rescue where she had her own room since she did not like other cats.

Isis then went to a foster home with a nice family and had a great time the first week.  After that she came down with an illness and we brought her back for medical care.  Poor little Isis, the most exuberant of all the rescue kitties here, was knocked for a loop with a serious illness and did not recover.  She went to sleep peacefully and passed away here in her “home” at the rescue.  Isis loved people and was the gentlest and yet most social cat we have had.  Her raspy meow is greatly missed…
