THE PURRFESSOR

UPDATE Dec 2011: The Purrfessor was an affectionate and loving kitty we took two weeks ago when his time at Animal Control ran out due to crowding.  He loved attention and would purr the moment he sensed someone near.  His vision was impaired and he had a few problems but we thought he had a couple of quality years left.

Unfortunately, within a couple of weeks he had some sort of extreme episode followed by an immediate emergency visit and then a few days of hospitalization.  He rallied temporarily after which he was experiencing considerable pain, even with treatment, so sadly we had to let him go (as our only humane option).

We adored him and will always remember his gentle sweet nature and soothing purr.....

The Purrfessor is a fine old gentleman who was at Animal Control (as "Marlin") for six weeks.  Due to his advanced age and blindness he was not adopted. The workers there sent out a plea to rescues with the hope someone could take him.  They really liked him there but there were no funds for medical testing, etc., although he seemed healthy other than his blindness and the fact that he was drinking more water than expected.

We took The Purressor into our fold because he is a sweet old guy who purrs when anyone gets near.  He is a darling and loves petting.  He will go for a vet check this week and we'll see if he needs testing.

He does not jump on things and is not a door darter!  He is mellow but active and interested in his surroundings.  He naps a lot.

We will add to his bio as we learn more about this fellow and will try to get more photos!
