UNCLE
WALTER'S STORY
Uncle
Walter was a happy, good-natured cat who enjoyed a long life.
He was
affectionately nicknamed Dubya or Dubbie and brought joy to all who met
him. He
lived a harsh life at an industrial site for many years with his friends
Bandit, BoBo, Jeremy, Bindi (with one eye), and also Callie, Bandy, and
Midnight who passed away before him (after retirement).
Please see Midnight’s memorial for more about their background.
Walter
and his “family” were brought in for retirement as they were not
healthy enough to be re-homed outdoors and deserved comfort in their final
years. Surprisingly, Walter
adapted really well to the indoors life.
He was quite active, prancing around like a little pony and a
favorite of cats and people alike.
He would start purring the minute he saw someone and loved to be
petted and rub against your legs
“Dub” had
bravely fought many health issues as long as he could.
Although eventual blindness did not curtail his quality of life,
sudden kidney failure did occur and we all said goodbye to him at the end
of August. We will
all miss his sweet little orange face and desire to snuggle.
