Leto and Jack

UPDATE: Thank you. Leto and Jack have permanent homes now!

Leto (white) and Jack (black) had a good home for many years but their “mom” went into the care with serious health issues and it was impossible for her to keep them.  We are seeking a wonderful quiet indoors home for them together.  Leto is a mature adult, possibly around 10.  Jack is younger and maybe 4 or 5.  They are very good friends and have been together for a few years.  Both have mild thyroid conditions that are under control with a special diet called YD.  They cannot have any other food at all while on this diet, but this avoids a need for medication.  They cannot be in a home with other pets since they are restricted to eating only this food and not one bite of anything else.  For this same reason they should be in a home without small children who might give them something else.

They are both very sweet kitties and like petting and attention.  Once comfortable with someone in a calm setting, Leto is sociable and trusting.  Jack is much more shy and requires more time to warm up to people.  However, with patience and gentle interaction over time both will be comfortable in a home with a quiet atmosphere.  Jack has been an escape risk in the past so the ideal home would be with a couple or single person since a door left open even for a few seconds without close monitoring could lead to escape.  Jack should not have access to a room with a door to the outside until he is fully established in a home.  There can be no access to a patio or to a window without a screen.  We are trying to avoid things we know would present risks.   We would be happy with a senior home.  We require someone who has had indoor cats in the recent past, has a good reference from a veterinarian, and is financially able to provide any vet care they may need in the future.  Currently on their special food they are very healthy.  They are both neutered and up to date on shots.
